My (current) outline 📃

I’ve created an outline to follow when making the site. It’s changed several times cause I’ll get a random idea or realize I can’t do something because it’s an unrealistic amount of work for me ^^’ Or maybe I just think people might not be that interested in it for the amount of work needed to set it up!

Anyway, here’s my current outline:

Item Collection

Possibly getting an proper Domain Name

Possible Shop (p1 - Adding previous bfs)

Forums

Theme Revamp (will continue to add customization options)

The Lounge

- “a place to abandon bfs you don’t want, perhaps someone else will prefer their company here”

- it’s pretty much an adoption area, a good way to get merge fodder or even find guys you might be missing. there will be a limit in place for how many bfs you can “adopt” at a time

Trading

Wishlist

Possible opening site to just sign up straight away (maybe… big maybe)

Shop (p2 - Actual items to give bfs, alts, any other things i think would be fun to add)

Profile Revamp:

- Add the basic functionality that one would find under profile

- Make it more appealing to the eyes (lol)

- Favorite Character

- Badges

- Sticker Section

- Profile Comments

- Achievements (???)

Considering ways to make site more interactive:

- Mini Games (papa like or diner dash like?)

- World Explorartion (big skeptical on this one)

- Avatar Creation (considering still but high chance of dropping)

- (In other words, things that will require finding and learning how to use another tool, so thats why im putting this all the way down here lol; Possible Tools: Twine)

So currently I’m on The Lounge part. The Lounge is pretty much an adoption page on the site where you can gather boyfriends that have been dropped off. It’s supposed to be a way to get old bfs or just bfs you can use to ‘feed’ other bfs. And by feed I mean merge:

The Lounge idea was inspired by Chicken Smoothie’s adoption page btw! (I haven’t had much time to play CS these days sob.)

I thought it would be super quick to set up but once I started, I realized all the things I needed to consider. Like I also plan to have trading eventually and want to keep track of trades, and adopting from The Lounge (or giving to it) would be considered a trade. So I ended up setting up part of the trading already. And it’s like oh I also got to make sure I check that no one else grabbed the bf beforehand and set a limit of claims per day and blah blah blah

It’s not necessarily hard, but it’s a little tedious. I guess you could say a lot of coding is tedious. Though nothing will beat when I wanted to set up theme customization! Oh my god, I was like…. “Why did I do this?” at certain points throughout that long process lol. I don’t regret it now cause I’m really happy with how it came out, and it’s fun adding more theme options! It’s starting to look really nice imo. But yea during that I would be like okay, hold on I need to add this and this…… okayyy, wait I also need this…. and so on and so forth. And there were moments where I thought I couldn’t do something cause I’m using nextjs ahah

I think nextjs is great for when you want to hurry and get to the creative part (perfect in my case), but sometimes I feel like a cross guard will stop me from walking across the street for some reason I don’t fully understand and tell me to take a longer way round if I really want to get across.

Uh, I think that’s all. I ended up talking all over the place but it’s kind of nice to just ramble about the process!
